Even though I had my prom six years ago, I still remember the excitement and all of the planning leading up to the big day. It’s a big deal for a girl and an even bigger deal to find the perfect dress. Prom dresses can be expensive, so it’s great that Kellie’s can offer them for a fraction of the price. I still recall the days I worked at the consignment shop during prom season and seeing so many girls and their moms walk out happy, because they not only were able to find that perfect dress, but were able to do it all within a budget.
I didn’t really know much about the current prom trends for 2017 so I went ahead and did some research to share with you all. I hope this helps and please let us know if your daughter, sister, cousin or friend found her prom dress at Kellie’s 🙂
Two-piece prom dress
Don’t play it safe and step away from the traditional dress. Crop tops are obviously here to stay so why not try a crop top and skirt. Two piece dresses are young and refreshing and perfect for the special night.
Off the shoulder prom dress
Another huge recent trend is the off the shoulder look. It shows just the right amount of skin.
Pastel & Lace
One of the prettiest combos! Take advantage of these two spring trends and stand out from everyone else wearing jewel tones.
Who said you need to rock a single color dress to prom? Floral prints are beautiful and vibrant and will give any style dress that extra pop.
I loveeeee short prom dresses, especially because you don’t see a lot of them! Perfect for the girl who loves to walk to the beat of her own drum and never follows the rules. Plus, a little leg never hurt anyone.
I’m pretty sure every girl owns one of these by now. There are so many different styles of chokers out there that you can actually wear one to prom. Look for a plain velvet or satin chocker and add sparkle with some big earrings, or do the opposite and find a blinged out chocker and keep the earrings simple.
Of all the places I looked online, the most popular hair trend I found for this year was braids and loose, flowey waves. What I love most about this was that it fits both short or long hair, and is also effortless. You can also play it up with whatever braid you want; one or two, crown braid or fish tail braid.
