The obsession with ‘green’ is going further than our food and our planet. Learn how to incorporate it into your everyday look by trying a leafy-green color on your eyelids, nails or lips. Below are some looks for inspiration ~
Is everyone enjoying this nice weather or what? I know my last few post this month have been about new spring makeup trends ( because I was so excited) so I wanted to switch it over and focus on some spring makeup trends! Leave me comments and share photos of any of the fashion and makeup trends you have tried 🙂 Have a fabulous weekend Kellie’s readers, xoxo.
Soft & Feminine
The Minimilist Look
This is one of my all-time favorite looks that I actually wear on the regular. Even though I love wearing a full face of makeup, I typically don’t use it for everyday. The minimilist look is all about balance; for example I either do a bold lip and simple or bare eye, or on the contrary a smokey or cat eye and a neutral or bare lip.
Play up your eyes this spring with an eyeliner in a color other than black or brown. It’s great for a night out and brings all the attention to your eyes. I recently tried a bright teal color and loved it.
The “Bare” Look
The name of this says it all, it’s basically a “no-makeup” makeup look. Throw on some tinted BB cream, concealer, blush and mascara and you’re good to go. Super simple, fast and easy to achieve.
Give the illusion you’ve been kissed by the sun early this spring by layering on bronzer and highlighting your face.
Who doesn’t love a good lipstick? Be bold and try something new! Fuscia, baby pink and orange are all up for grabs this spring in the lip department. Find a pretty shade for your skin tone and have some fun!
Any makeup junkie out there knows that peach and orange have been making a comeback in the makeup world, it’s the new ‘IT’ color Of 2017. I am personally excited because I think these colors are beautiful and look great on all skin tones – plus, it’s getting me excited for spring and warmer weather! Below are some of the best ways to wear the trend and some the blushes/lipsticks I love in these gorgeous shades.
Try it monochrome:
1. Too Faced Baby Love and Love Hangover. The first one is a perfect peachy/nude shade and the second one is more of a subtle orange. Both are great for everyday ad brighten up your face. Find them here.
2. This is my favorite lipstick shade to wear in the summer because it’s so bright! Plus it’s matte which I love. MAC special edition Toledo collection orange shade. There is no link included for this one because the collection is no longer available on the MAC website, but I’m sure you can Google it and find it elsewhere.
3. This is a great everyday lipstick, it’s more of a gloss but it’s not too glossy. It’s also the perfect mix between peach and coral. Naughty by Flirt! Same with this one, no link because they no longer have it on their website, but I’m sure you can find it elsewhere.
Hey girlies! I hope everyone’s new year has been great and everyone are is beginning to get settled into 2017 – I know I barely am lol. I wanted to do a post about achieving great brows in 5 minutes because I get a lot of questions on how I do mine. I do pluck my own eyebrows. I’ve only ever gotten them waxed once and threaded once. It does take time and practice but I save a lot of money. Doing my brows is something I take time to do every morning, along with a lot of other women – except that small percent of women out there that have flawless, effortless eyebrows – we all wish we were you. Below is a photo of my done up brows ??
There are obviously a lot of brow products out there, so finding the right one can be daunting. This is the one I currently use and that I really like: Anastasia Beverly Hills DIPBROW Pomade. It’s a great product, it lasts all day and a little goes a long way so you really do get your monies worth. The only thing with brow pomade’s is that you also have to buy a brush seperatly to apply it, and it also takes time and practice to perfect applying a perfect brow. Here is the inexpensive brush I use: e.l.f. Cosmetics Small Angled Makeup Brush. On top of this, I also use a clear gel atop my eyebrows so that the makeup stays in place. Here is what I use: Essence Lash & Brow Gel Mascara. Below are photos of the products ??
So there you go ladies, my secret to great and quick brows! Let me know if you have any questions or comments in the comment area!
From long to short, still fabulous!
We’ve all made the statement “I could never cut my hair short!” I’m guilty myself. I’ve been team long hair my whole life…until recently. My hair has always been almost all the way down to my butt, the longer the better I always thought! Don’t get me wrong, long hair is beautiful, but so is short hair; cutting my hair above my shoulders was one of the best things in a while, and I’m going to tell you why and what to expect:
- For me it was more about change – I felt like I needed a drastic change and I didn’t know exactly what it was going to be, it just so turns out cutting off 17 inches of my hair was just it.
- I save so much time now it’s ridiculous. My showers are a lot shorter and so is the process of straightening my hair. If you’re someone who wants or needs to be more time efficient, you might want to consider chopping off some of your locks.
- You won’t recognize yourself sometimes in the mirror or get shocked at your reflection and it’ll be really funny.
- Show off your shoulders! Shoulders are sexy, end of story. Why not show them off all the time?
- People will be asking you a lot of questions. Why did you cut your hair? Does it feel weird? Do you miss your long hair?
- You’ll save money on hair products since you’ll be using such small amounts. Everyone can afford to save some extra $$.
- You’ll realize it’s just hair! It grows back! It’s not a big deal. Be happy you had the guts to chop it off and try a new look! Props to you 😉
What we put on our body is just as important as what we put in it. If you spend heaps of money buying all of the “miracle” skin cremes, moisturizers, serums and peels but you still eat like a 12 year old, you are wasting your money and time. If you really want a beautiful clear and spot-free complexion, you do need to watch what you eat. With this being said, here is a list of foods that will help your naturally beautiful skin be even more radiant:
Foods To Eat:
Salmon: Salmon is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which serve as building blocks for healthy skin cells.
Tuna: This fish is full?of selenium, a mineral that helps promote skin elastin, which leads to better skin elasticity.
Yogurt: This is the perfect snack for beautiful skin. It is?full of probiotics that help reduce skin inflammation and is also a great source of vitamin A, which promotes healthy cell turnover, helps acne and prevents wrinkles.
Avocado: This yummy fruit is full of certain fats that are used by your body to make strong skin cells.
Green Tea: My personal favorite! Green tea contains antioxidants that prevent damage to your skin.
Tomatoes: Studies have shown that tomato’s have something in them that protect against sunburn and sun-induced skin aging.
Blueberries: Blueberries are full of resveratrol, a powerful antioxidant that promotes a variety of healthy heart benefits. Resveratrol also helps?fight free radicals, protects against UV damage and maintains collagen and moisture levels.
Foods Not To Eat (Or Avoid):
Sugary/Starchy Foods: When it comes to foods that have a negative effect on your skin, foods high in sugar and starch at the top of the list. A lot of them are associated with acne breakouts and are known to increase blood sugar level, ultimately leading to glycation of collagen, which is when sugar molecules attach to collagen, leading to collagen stiffening, loss of elasticity and skin wrinkles. So, it’s a no brainer that fresh fruits and veggies are a better choice 🙂
I hope this post helped! Now go have a yummy salad packed with avocados and tomato’s and show off that beautiful Skin!
