Have you run out of space in your closet? If so, it’s probably time for a cleaning. But before you embark on an overhaul, know that it will take some hard work and time. In this blog post, I’ll talk about closet management and some tips on how to makeover your closet. I’ll also talk about what to do with the clothes you no longer want. Enjoy!
I want to repeat this because it’s important: cleaning out your closet is going to take a few hours and is a commitment. Save this task for a day when you have a few hours to dedicate to it. I promise, it’ll be worth it. Here is what you need to do:
First: Make a game plan. Plan what you want your goal to be. Do you want to get rid of items? Do you want to reorganize your shoes too? Go in knowing what you want the finished outcome to be.
Second: Remove and sort. Take out items you know you want to get rid of first, to make more space. Set these items aside, so you can sort out what you are keeping. Something that always helps me is literally taking everything out, and then putting it back in, in the order I want. This also helps me to see if I need additional hangers or other supplies.
Third: Put it all back in. Have fun with this! You’ll be happy to see your hard work pay off 🙂
Fourth and last: Clean, consign or donate. This part is also fun. One thing that helps me in deciding what I want to keep or get rid of, is I ask myself if I’m going to wear that piece of clothing a month or two from now. If the answer is no, I get rid of it. Getting rid of items also makes it easier to clean and sort out your space.
One of the best parts about getting rid of items you no longer use, is that you can make some extra cash. Kellie’s is a great place to consign your clothing items, and give them a new home. Whatever Kellie’s doesn’t take, gets donated, so regardless, your items will find a new home.
I hope this helped, and you guys are on your way to a cleaner and tidier closet! <3
