And it’s time to switch over your winter decor, to spring decor. Trends this year in decor are expected to be bolder, with unexpected touches and accents. Expect to see a lot of jewel tones, brass and copper tones, clean lines and unexpected twists, like velvet. If your New Years resolution is to try something different for your home, or if you’re looking for an overall fresh start, below are some ideas to help for inspiration ~
As always, don’t forget to stop into Kellie’s if you’re looking for new decor – they have everything from small decorative items, to lamps, rugs and even furniture.
Jewel tones are bold; if you’re looking to makeover a room so that it looks bolder, a jewel tone palette might be one to consider. You can also down play the color by adding decor in neutral tones, for example choosing curtains or pillows in a neutral color scheme.
A touch of velvet
Velvet has been making a comeback the last couple of years, and now it’s making it into home decor. Keep this subtle, and if you’re going to do something big (like the couch below) keep everything else simple.
This is a new trend that can be easily incorporated into fixtures; think door knobs or handles. There are great mirrors with metal details, too.
Bold, floral prints
Florals are a perfect way to bring in some freshness for spring (this works for your clothes, too). Try it in different parts of your home too, like with bedding or towels.
Add natural accents with wood and other earthly materials.
